With the combined effect of last year’s ROG Phone 2 launch and an assortment of other rumours around this year’s release, it was already assumed that Asus would pull the wraps off the ROG Phone 3 in July. Tencent Games, who has an involvement in various established titles – including League of Legends, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite – posted on Chinese social media site Weibo on 23 June that the ROG Phone 3 will be arriving next month. While the post itself simply states that the phone will be released “soon” the ROG Phone 3 embedded within the post is actually where this key tidbit can be seen. Pair this with the existing bevvy of leaks detailed in our ROG Phone 3 rumour roundup and this might be one of the most interesting phone launches of the year, particularly as it arrives next month, with little flagship competition expected to arrive around the same time, save for Asus’ own rumoured ZenFone 7.
