In Formula 1, the Monaco Grand Prix is one of the jewels in the crown, but McLaren driver and two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso is missing the race to compete in the Indy 500. So racing fans are more interested in the American spectacle in 2017 – Alonso qualified in fifth.
Indy 500 start time UK
The Indy 500 race is on the same day as the Monaco Grand Prix, 28 May, but luckily they don’t take place at the same time. Things kick-off pretty early local time in the US with red carpet style proceedings at 8:30am but the race is due to starts at 12:20pm. That means the race will start at 5:20pm UK time and is expected to last around three hours. Also see: How to watch the Stanley Cup Final online.
