AMD’s new processors, codenamed Matisse, will use the 7nm process while Intel will only be using a 10nm processor for its 2019 series. Intel has long held a general performance advantage over AMD on a core-by-core comparison but this trend could be about to reverse with these specs listed below. It’s also important to note that AMD has previously committed to several generations on the AM4 socket, which suggests that these processors will be able to run on the same motherboards that housed the original Ryzen generation that launched back in 2017, a feature that certainly won’t be found at Intel. These are some very impressive numbers at very impressive price points, particularly so if AMD once again packages its solid air coolers with its CPUs.
