Still with a 6.44in screen and all the things we loved about the original Mi Max (read our Mi Max review), the Mi Max 2 now has an even more capacious battery (5,300mAh vs 4,850mAh) with Quick Charge 3.0 support, some more generous memory and storage options and a new camera setup that matches that of the flagship Xiaomi Mi6. You can see the full specification in the table further down in this article. (Don’t get this big phone confused with the Mi Mix, a concept design revealed last year with a similar-size but bezel-less screen.) You’ll also like: Xiaomi Mi 5X rumours and MIUI 9.0 rumours
When is the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 release date?
The Mi Max 2 went on sale in China on 1 June. It will not officially go on sale in the UK, but GearBest is listing the device and happy to ship it (for free) to global customers. (We actually have one in for review, so keep your eyes peeled for our verdict later this week.) It has now also been announced in India, where it will go on sale on 27 July. You should take into account when buying a phone from abroad that different countries use different cellular frequencies. Typically Xiaomi phones will support the 2100MHz and 2600MHz bands we use for 4G in the UK, but not 800MHz. This means customers of O2, Sky Mobile, Giffgaff and others that rely solely on 800MHz for 4G will not get anything faster than 3G without connecting to Wi-Fi. (See How to tell whether a phone is supported by your network.) You should also factor import duty into your initial budget, since the Mi Max 2 will ship from China rather than within Europe. This is calculated at 20 percent of the value on the shipping paperwork, plus an admin fee of around £11. (Check out our Chinese tech buying advice for more details.)
How much does the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 cost?

What does the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 look like?
As previously, the Mi Max 2 is a full metal unibody phone with rounded edges, now with improved one-handed use.
A fingerprint scanner remains located on the device’s rear, and the screen still features incredibly slim bezels to the left and right edges.
